Dear Praying Friends,
As we wait for the door to be opened to Australia, I find myself thinking of those in Scripture who, like ourselves, were waiting on God’s perfect timing. Was Noah impatient? Did he plead with God to open the door early? What would have happened if God granted his request? God opened the door at the appointed time, when it was safe and dry. Although we are anxious to leave, we still see God’s timing and planning in this apparent “delay”.
Our sponsor, Peoples Baptist Church in Kellerberrin AU, has undergone a tax audit, received a business I.D. number, secured all necessary paperwork, and has lodged a formal request for approval with the Australian government. Although it seems complicated, all this has actually gone quite smoothly. However, when Paul spoke of his door in 1 Corinthians 16:9 he described it as great, effectual and opened yet he still acknowledged the presence of many adversaries. We know that we, too, have an adversary. One missing form or inaccurate document could set us back weeks. Please pray that this process continues unhindered.
Please keep in prayer our efforts to spread the Gospel during the upcoming holiday season. We intend to use this time to visit with many unsaved friends and family. Please keep in your prayers a young man named David. I had the opportunity to speak with him at great length about the Bible and salvation when he came to my door representing the Watchtower organization. God has burdened my heart for these cult members and has led me to speak with many in the past, but the hardest thing is to get them back for a return visit. That being said, three weeks later David came back. Since I was not home at the time I am unsure of his intentions, but certainly after our first conversation he must have crossed me off his “prospects list”. Please pray that we cross paths soon and that he accepts the saving truth of the Gospel.
HELP WANTED?? In three weeks we can submit our form for nominee approval. This is hopefully the last of the visa paperwork. Then more waiting. Please help us pass the time constructively by putting us to work. This includes preaching a service, painting a bathroom, repairing a church bus, and anything in between.
In an effort to communicate current and specific matters of prayer we will now be sending our letters more frequently than bi-monthly. This should effectively change our format from “two month old report” to “up to date newsletter”.
